How The Collection Came to be.

Hi, welcome and thank you for your interest in the Found Art Collection of El Capitan, Yosemite.

On this website you will find framed print art of Images I found on the rock cliffs of El Capitan Yosemite that I viewed or saw as recognizable images in an art form, also known as Found Art.

I was introduced to Found Art from my younger brother Steven Strader who carved an eagle out of a tree stump in the 9th grade and won 1st in the state of Arkansas for his Art.Please see Steven Straders Photo with eagle on website.
About 7 years ago I went and visited Yosemite like anyone else and as I was walking toward the base of El Capitan as a crowd was stopped on the side of the trail, I couldn’t see what they were looking at, So I asked and they replied, that rock climber up there on the side of that cliff is getting ready to bed down for the night. Once I spotted the rock climber, I continued looking as to how much higher he had to go to the top and then I saw it. The first recognizable facial Image. Ever since then I have been looking and finding art that I have found and enjoyed, it wasn’t anything I set out to do or accomplish. I was always surprised as to what I was seeing most of the time I couldn’t believe it. I had a hunch or a feeling El Capitan was a mural of art work or an artistic sculpture per say but back then I could not break it down, Today I can. It is a mural of art work in my view. Everything is connected one art piece turns into another and so on once you see it all. It’s very clear but it took me about 6 years of looking over and over El Capitan. It has been a long journey of finding and discovery from truly a heavenly place. Yosemite, Ca.
